CVD vs HPHT Diamonds: What is the Difference?
Both CVD and HPHT are methods for growing lab diamonds, but they differ in process, appearance, and characteristics.
CVD vs HPHT Diamonds
CVD Diamonds
Chemical Vapor Deposition grows diamonds in a low-pressure chamber using carbon-rich gas. CVD diamonds tend to be Type IIa — the purest form of diamond.
HPHT Diamonds
High Pressure High Temperature mimics the natural formation process. Both are excellent choices certified by IGI or GIA.
